Plain wire has many uses and applications, from supporting climbing plants through to being used as line wires along a mesh fence run to then clip the netting or stock fencing to between posts.
To tension this correctly as line wire, it should be loosely stapled into position on the posts so that it can still move, before then being tensioned with a Fence Wire Strainer (or similar), pulled taught and stapled firmly into position.
Once fixed firmly, it can then have the wire netting clipped to it using suitable hogg ring clips.
Mild steel is often the preferred choice of wire as it is much easier to handle and work with than high tensile, making installation easier.
