150mm (6″) Feather edge – Pressure Treated Spruce

The most visible part of a closeboard fence: The Feather Edge.

It’s because of this we go to special lengths to source the right product that not only will stand the test of time, but also look great!

1. Timber Species: Most mills only cut mixed specie feather edge, however we specify all our feather edge is cut from spruce, giving a consistent visual appearance thanks to a more uniform natural colour tone

2. Pressure Treated: We ensure all our feather edge is correctly pressure treated to protect it from the rain and against wood rot

Our standard feather edge boards are 125mm wide, so with a 25mm overlap will finish at 100mm.

To work out how much feather edge you will need for your closeboard fence, divide the total meterage of your fence run by 0.1.

We always recommend allowing a percentage on top for wastage, generally equating to between 5-25 boards (depending on length of fence).
